What we do...
An exceptional experience of community and activities
A great program for great campers!

We truly believe (and have proof) that camp is an important part of a child's development that benefits them throughout their entire life. Camp can help develop a child's inter-personal skills, intra-personal development, increase self-confidence and help them learn leadership; all this while having fun and learning new activities!

Character development: We base our program around respect,
responsibility, reaching out, and taking reasonable risks.
These traits are important for each camper to have an exceptional
experience in camp, and will also help them throughout their lives.
Each day we present a new trait to the campers and focus on ways
they can show it at camp, school and home. Campers are encouraged
to continue these traits after they leave camp through our trait integration program.

Our Counselors: Our counselors are the most important part of making camp exceptional. We recognize their importance as role-models to campers and therefore only hire safe, dedicated and fun individuals. Then we train them extensively, both before camp starts and ongoing throughout the summer. Each of our counselors is also certified in CPR, First Aid and AED use.

Camper groups:  Campers are placed in groups based on their school grade, and will stay with their group for the majority of their session. Each group has their own counselor which will teach them camp activities and lead their small group times. Our youngest campers (4 & 5 year olds) are placed in groups of no more than six campers and older campers are in groups of no more than eight campers. While most of camp activities are done in camper groups, there are times each day when all of camp comes together to participate in activities.

A unique partnership!

Many other resorts have "camp" programs, but none have the ability to say they're run by an actual, established camp. By partnering with Camp Champions, and their decades of experience, we're committed to running a true camp program.

What is a true camp program? Let me give you one example. Anyone can give a group of kids an arts and craft project, but we know that the goal of arts and crafts isn't just to make a cool popsicle picture frame. We know that that time sitting around a table creates more than just sticky fingers and paint everywhere, it creates a unique time for the counselor to build trust. Trust is earned through the things we do and say, and our counselors are trained to recognize these moments to build relationships with the camper and build our community. They know that that trust can later be transferred to help the camper climb an extra  two feet on the climbing wall. Campers who trust their counselors will listen to what they really say. At the end of the day when their counselor talks about respect, our campers really will listen.  Campers want to be like their counselors because they are not only cool, but they model respect to the campers and each other. As you can see, we put a lot of thought into our arts and crafts projects as well as all of our programming.

A true camp program is created very intentionally to help campers grow socially, emotionally and physically. Sure we play games, go on field trips and (everyone's favorite) go swimming, but there's a lot more going on than meets the eye. Programs are designed to help campers learn to socialize with other kids and adults in a positive way, to help campers create that trusting bond with their counselor so that they can emulate the character traits our counselors display and campers are encouraged to try new activities and get better at the ones they already know. Our campers certainly have fun, but they grow as well.
